About Us
Genesis & Growth
Deprived socio-economic condition of poor coupled with the lack of access to and control over available community resources, un-equitable distribution of resources between haves and have-nots and discrimination and exclusion of marginalized sections motivated a group of social forward looking and committed band of energetic youths of Chandabali to form a Social Action Group in the year 1956 for launching systematic campaign against social exclusion, discrimination & disadvantage. Since its inception, the Social action group has organized and executed well planned movements at grass roots level to safe guard the interest of the poor, down trodden and unorganized farmers with an honest intention to empower them to fight against socially imposed discrimination & structural disadvantage through awareness camps and street theaters. In the year 1978-79, this social action group was registered under Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860 in the name of Pragati Jubak Sangha which literally means Youths for development . Since its registration, it has been striving hard for the integrated development of the poorest of the poor in general and farmers, women, & youths in particular.

In 1999, a group of young & dedicated youths joined in the organization with missionary sprit to sustain the initiative of Pragati Jubak Sangha. The year 2000 witnessed a sea change brought about in organizational structure and policy development. Since then it has been working with planned approach and strategy to redress the problems of the weaker community and facilitate integrated development of the under developed pockets in the state of Odisha.
